Prof. Ricardo Jimenez-Peris got a Microsoft Research Cambridge PhD Award (2006) for the research project titled "Large scale data streaming". Mr. Jorge Salas will perform the PhD on this topic funded by the award.

ACM Transactions on Computer Systems (TOCS) is one of the most prestigious journals in computer science. LSD has published the research results on database replication around Middle-R, a database replication middleware built by the lab.
LSD is the first Spanish research group to publish in ACM Transactions on Database Systems (TODS), the most reputed journal in database systems. The paper performs a thorough analytical study of the scalability of replicated databases and quorum systems.
